STAFF POSITIONS
Full-Stack Software Developer
Our lab is seeking a full-stack developer to design and help build innovative mobile and tablet applications for research in AI and health sciences. This position offers the unique opportunity to work on an agile, in-house development team where you’ll rapidly prototype, iterate, and deploy applications that directly support individuals with neurodevelopmental differences, like autism. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced research environment, values collaborative feedback, and can quickly translate requirements into functional technical solutions across platforms. You’ll work closely with researchers and clinicians to create impactful tools that advance our understanding of autism, communication, and human development.
This position is ideal for current second-year Master’s students, those with a Master’s Degree or relevant experience, specifically those who have 1-2 years of expertise with deploying apps and can start immediately. This role has the potential to transition to a longer-term role, based on resources, performance, and alignment.

Research Assistant
Our lab is seeking a full-time Research Assistant to support a diverse and growing portfolio of research projects. In this role, you will manage multiple databases, assist with IRB modifications, and contribute to day-to-day study coordination alongside an interdisciplinary team. You may be trained and trusted to lead remote study sessions and handle identifiable data with the highest level of care, compassion, and confidentiality. We are looking for a highly detail-oriented individual who actively contributes to team meetings, communicates clearly, offers thoughtful feedback, and integrates constructive guidance. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, thinks critically about communication science disorder research, and is passionate about advancing research for vulnerable and underserved populations.
This position is ideal for recent graduates with research experience in their undergraduate career or 1-2 years of work experience.

- Conduct research to illuminate the developmental trajectories of populations often excluded from traditional research, with a focus on non-speech communication and other complex behaviors.
- Develop and utilize advanced computational techniques, including multimodal machine learning, computer vision, large language models, explainable AI, signal processing (speech, audio, and biosensor data), multivariate statistical methods, and nonlinear systems analysis.
- Create and deploy strengths-based, person-centered augmentative technology to enhance communication, learning, and play.
- Inform translational research in genetics, neuroscience, and developmental science while advancing personalized, naturalistic studies and digital healthcare.
- Collaborate with cutting-edge research hospitals and universities.

Our lab is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to advance our understanding of communication and development in autism and neurodevelopmental disorders. This position offers the opportunity to lead high-impact research using human subjects data, publish in top-tier journals, and mentor the next generation of scientists. The ideal candidate has a strong publication record and thrives in a collaborative research environment where they can shape independent research directions while contributing to the overall lab mission.
Cross-disciplinary expertise in any of the following fields is strongly preferred: computer science, electrical/computer engineering, psychology, neuroscience, communication sciences and disorders, or related fields. This is a two-year position with opportunities for extension and is available starting as early as January 2026.
